Visiting day for parents

Visiting Day

On the 11th January, all the parents who have children linked with Matumaini were invited to a meeting to involve them in some of the issues facing the centre. There were good discussions and the meeting was a success. Afterwards the families of those in the hostel took special meals to their children and spent the afternoon with them.

Prayer news

Ann Raikes, who is currently working at the Matumaini Centre, shares just a few of the things that she would really appreciate prayer for.
  • provision for wheelchair ramps and accessible pathways around the centre.
  • provision for the boys dorm to be renovated and also a place for visitors or volunteers to stay.
  • wisdom and guidance in finding a way for some of the young adults to move towards independence.
  • the whole team in general, to be blessed and enthused by the work they're doing.

Solar Panels needed

Solar Panels needed

Florence reports from Kenya about the need for funding for solar energy panels.

Florence, the Director of Matumaini Rehabilitation Centre reports "the use of electricity to light the place and fire wood for cooking is quickly diminishing.  There is an urgent need for renewable energy as a source of power.  There are no more trees to fell for cooking."
